I'm a Human Pin Cushion

Sitting here typing looking at my black and blue hand full of needle marks thinking someone is going to think I am a junky. It's always been hard to find my veins, they seem to hide or be so little they collapse. I was in the clinic today being prodded for my e2 test, nurse going from arm to arm to hands, looking for a vein. 5 pokes later (after she called in the Dr. for help) we get one to give us a little blood. Nurse goes and askes the tech if it's enough for the e2 test and of course it wasn't. Back to sitting there with a hot water bottle on my hand. Finally she started prodding my foot and of course she wanted to try this nice looking vein, man does getting blood taken from your foot sting, but it worked after almost an hour of trying to get just one little vial from me.

Now to repeat this again on Thursday. Oh what fun, I keep telling myself that's ok though it will be worth it. Worth it to have a crying little one, poopy diapers, terriable two toddler, unruly teenager ... ok ya remind me again why are we doing this lol. No, seriously it will be worth it.

(my pin cushion hand over 6 pokes & bruising is setting in)

Ultrasound went well, Dr. said things are progressing. e2 was 65.8. Upping my dose of Follistem to 450iu next 3 days then back in on Thurs. morning. They hope by then to be able to start counting follicles and will probably be starting Ganirelix shots in the morning. That will prevent my body from ovulating and help the follicles all grow at the same pace we don't want one to get ahead of the others. So two shots a day soon, one in the morning one at night, yay!

Estimated date of egg retrieval is maybe next Thurs. Time is going faster than I thought during this process.

Please keep praying for us need my estrogen levels to keep going up which is why they are increasing the dosage and pray for many follicles to be developing at an even pace. If these things don't happen there is always the chance the cycle would be cancelled and I'd have to start all over again. So prayers are much appreciated.

Well that is all for now ... off to make some more Zucchini bread for our bake sale.
